Front entrance

Before and after photos of entrance

The original entrance was significantly deteriorated by the use of deicing salts, exposure to water, and poor repairs. I designed the new entrance with a raised mortar bed to reduce moisture stress on the lime mortar.

Model of the new entrance. Steps are designed with a 2 degree slope and a uniform rise. In order to meet code, the landing had to be reduced and an additional step (6) had to be added.
Hand-carved Wallace Sandstone, tooled to match original.

Installation completed by East Coast Masonry using hot lime mortar.
