The general form of the headstone was inspired by a range of historic headstones in the cemetery. Semicircular tablets with simple mouldings and a wide base are common among 18th and 19th century sandstone and marble headstones. To personalize the stone, I worked with the client to add meaningful designs to the face and moulding of the tablet. The remaining surfaces are finished using the same tools and methods as done in the past.
