The entire length of the street boundary of the Cranewood building is marked by three sections of stone fence. The southern section (pictured below) was significantly slanted toward the sidewalk, which required rebuilding. Rather than rebuild in the same location, the client and I decided to move the fence away from the street to a location to a more level and equally offset as the other two sections of fence.

The new site was prepared with 6” of drained gravel below a 7” reinforced stepped footing. The length of the fence was shortened, allowing me to exclude some of the most deteriorated stones The fence was rebuilt in a moderately hydraulic lime mortar.
