Cellar Wall Rebuild

Fundy Stonecraft rebuilt 22′ of cellar wall below the Bonar Law Historic Site, using reclaimed and quarried stone in a moderately hydraulic lime. The reconstruction respects the bond pattern and tooling of previously undisturbed sections of adjacent walls.

The “as found” state of the collapsed cellar wall.
The supported sill and site preparation. Stone was cleaned and sorted for reuse.

Typical cross-section. Use of 3/4 and through stones and excessive use of hearting to limit joint sizes to less than 1/2”.
