Fundy Stonecraft was contracted to design and carve replacement finial stones on the South Wall of the North Park Armoury in Halifax, NS. The design was created with reference to the heavily deteriorated four original stones, each of which offered some dimension or detail of the original design. The challenging aspect of this design is that the location of the centre point of the semicircle is higher than the radiating point of the lobes (see drawings for explanation), making the semicircle elongated. This original architectural drawings did not show this. I submitted a design proposal and carved both finials (4 stones).
